The Trillium Gift of Life Network (TGLN) has honoured Scarborough Health Network (SHN) for our exceptional performance in the field of organ and tissue donation for a second year in a row!
Through sensitive and compassionate discussions, families who are caring for patients that have experienced a catastrophic brain injury or imminent death, meet with SHN’s Spiritual Care and a Trillium Gift of Life coordinator to discuss organ donations.
The process also includes expertise from our SHN nurses, respiratory therapists, Intensive Care Unit (ICU) or Emergency Department (ED) physicians.
We were graced by some of our patient partners at this year’s celebration event, who came to share their lived experiences with organ donation.
A huge congratulations to all the individual recipients for their ongoing commitment to this extremely valuable, life-changing work!
