Call for speakers

Bringing together the leading minds and talent of today to learn, explore, and discover where we are taking healthcare tomorrow –the University of Toronto Scarborough (UTSC) and Scarborough Health Network (SHN) invite you to be a part of Building Communities through Inclusive Health. This event will be hosted at the University of Toronto Scarborough on October 13-14, 2023.

This ground-breaking two-day conference celebrates the recently announced creation of the Eastern GTA’s all-new medical and healthcare education hub at UTSC – the Scarborough Academy of Medicine and Integrated Health (SAMIH) – and the partnership between UTSC and SHN as we work together to establish Scarborough as a centre of excellence in healthcare, academia, and research. The unique vision for Building Communities through Inclusive Health is to bring together health professionals, community perspectives and the cutting-edge of research in science, engineering, health sciences, social sciences, and arts and humanities, while addressing key health challenges. There are other conferences that integrate clinical and patient experience. This conference will be unique in inviting triad teams to submit abstracts for interactive presentations that incorporate these three perspectives (professionals, communities, and researchers) to provide a richer and more complex understanding of health conditions as well as their societal implications.

The conference organizing committee seeks submissions. There are two ways in which you can submit an abstract.

(1) Individuals who represent any of the three key perspectives; if you decide to submit on your own, the conference organizing committee will explore developing a triad team with other individual submitters.

OR

(2) Teams that cover the three key perspectives as a team.

Please indicate what format you would like to present. Provide a detailed description of your proposed session in the “Abstract” description box. You will be asked to include “Authors”. If this does not apply to you, simply put the name(s) of the presenter(s). There are a number of formats available to submit, including poster sessions for individuals who prefer to participate alone. We welcome any and all submissions that bring the vision forward!
