We’re hiring Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists

This is an exciting time at SHN with a new Northpine Diagnostic Imaging Department coming to our General Hospital – which will be one of the most advanced modern imaging facilities in Toronto. Our Diagnostic Imaging team is looking for exceptional Registered Technologists to join us!

The successful candidates will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and practice activities in a multidisciplinary family centered care environment. In this role, you will be responsible for the complete range of tests and procedures related to General Radiography as well as full-line Computerized Tomography (CT), patient information registry and report preparation, equipment maintenance, and other duties as relevant.

The successful candidate will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and practice activities in a multidisciplinary family centered care environment. In this role, you will be responsible for the complete range of tests and procedures related to Mammography and Interventional mammography.

The successful candidates will organize and perform ultrasound examinations, maintain and document high quality images during the course of duties, and actively participate in the implementation of strategies aimed at improving operational efficiency and effectiveness of the ultrasound service.

The Nursing Graduate Guarantee (NGG) program is designed to support Registered Nurses and Registered Practical Nurses who are within 12 months of registering with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) by providing them with a full-time employment opportunity.

The NGG program uses the NGG online portal to link new nurses and employers. Funding is provided to support transition into practice opportunities for new nurses that lead to full-time employment or the equivalent of full-time hours.

The ministry will provide 20 weeks of funding for each new nurse approved to participate in the NGG program. This will include 12 weeks of funding for the nurse’s transition into practice period and 8 weeks of funding to reinvest in existing frontline nurses and their professional development.

SHN’s EnRoute program provides RN candidates a chance to receive:

  • An in-house program Certificate,
  • Financial support in tuition costs, and staff participating in the program will be compensated hourly
  • A permanent position in the department for successful candidates.

SHN will announce application instructions online.

The Critical Care Sponsorship Program at SHN pays staff to be trained to work in the ICU. The combination of theory and placement hours enable staff to practice safely and confidently.
