Shoniker Clinic is located on the same grounds as our Centenary hospital. This clinic is staffed by a multi-professional team, specializing in assessment and treatment services for young people with significant mental health problems, including:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Obsessive compulsive disorder
- Trauma
- Tic disorders
- Psychosis
- Post-traumatic stress disorder
- Complex mental health issues
Following an assessment by one of our experienced professionals, an individualized treatment plan will be developed and implemented by our mental health team. Shoniker Clinic also offers prompt response for urgent cases. A timely assessment appointment with one of our mental health professionals is now available.
Accepted clients
We offer services to youths who have not yet reached their 19th birthday—except for our first episode psychosis program, which accept clients who are up to 35 years of age. Clients must reside in Scarborough, Pickering or Ajax. Referrals must be made by a physician.
Treatment services
At Shoniker Clinic, we offer a comprehensive range of services to support the needs of young people with a mental health condition. Our services include:
- Individual therapy
- Family counselling
- Group therapy
- Education workshops
- Psychiatric services
- Medication
We also offer a specialized program for young adults experiencing experiencing their first episode of psychosis. The First Intervention Treatment Team (FITT) provides assessment, treatment and case management services, and accepts clients up to 35 years of age who reside in Scarborough. Learn more about FITT .
