GENERAL INFORMATION

Please be advised that our Kids After Hours Clinic has moved to online bookings to better support the increased number of patients we are seeing at this time.

Scarborough Health Network’s Kids After Hours Clinic is a pediatrician led clinic for your sick child. The clinic provides direct access to a pediatrician to treat common medical issues when your child’s doctor may be away or unavailable.

Our clinic is staffed by a pediatrician and specialized pediatric nurse, who provide accessible, high-quality care for all families in Scarborough. Located on the same floor as our pediatric unit, the clinic offers a family friendly space for you and your child.

Important information

Increased number of patients

Due to the high demand, there may be a restriction of patients seen. Please book an individual appointment for each child that requires care at our clinic.

Conditions seen/not see at our clinic

The Kids After Hours Clinic is able to help look after all our patients with new medical problems. However, our urgent care clinic setting is not able to assist patients if:

  • They are very unwell and require emergency room care (i.e. breathing too fast, dehydration, having seizures)
  • They have any significant injury (i.e. head injury, cuts or possible fractures)
  • They have mental health problems (i.e. anxiety, depression, learning problems, childhood behaviour issues, suspected autism)
  • They have long-standing medical problems (i.e. chronic constipation, poor eating habits, complex medical problems)

The nurses will make an initial assessment and may direct you to the emergency room or redirect you to seek help from your regular primary care provider.

Please arrive on time

Patients are advised to arrive on time for their scheduled appointments. If you are late, you may be asked to wait.
