Throughout the past year, our organization has continued to thrive, delivering exceptional quality care and service across our diverse Scarborough community and beyond. From announcing our redevelopment projects to better support our community, to research and education that will directly impact and improve outcomes in Scarborough, we are making bold strides as a healthcare leader.

I am pleased to share our 2023-2023 Annual Report with you, outlining our historic fundraising year in which we raised $41.7 million! Within its pages, you will see the impact that donor giving has today, allowing us to put shovels in the ground on several long-awaited projects. Donations make it possible for SHN to invest in state-of-the-art medical equipment, cutting-edge technology, and innovative new spaces where patients and their families can focus on the most important thing—their health. These vital funds support exceptional quality care at SHN. This report shares the momentum we are seeing through words, numbers, and pictures. It is the start of a new chapter for SHN that shows the power of giving and what it means for this community when everyone stands together—and we are just getting started.

We are also nearing the end of our inaugural Strategic Plan; emerging from the pandemic, we have grown as an organization and developed a better understanding of who we are, while the needs and expectations of our community and our health system partners continue to evolve rapidly.

In light of these changes, SHN is “Reimagining Care” as we refresh and refocus our strategic plan for 2024 and beyond.

We are committed to taking a bold, visionary approach in the healthcare sector, with a focus on system integration and partnerships, and “breaking down walls” across the care continuum. This is not just about “connecting the dots” more effectively—it is about reimagining how and where SHN delivers care, and our role in driving change across the broader health ecosystem.

Your perspective is incredibly important to us, and we are committed to keeping you informed on opportunities to have your voice heard as we shape the way our organization moves forward. Learn more about our Strategic Planning process.

Take care,
