We’ve been on quite a unique journey since coming together in 2016 – a journey to create our first strategic plan, find our permanent name and look, and plan for our facilities of the future. Thanks to your ideas and input, we have produced a bold new roadmap to guide us through 2023, as well as a new identity that truly reflects the heart of who we are, who we serve, and who we represent.
On November 22, we will officially begin using our new hospital name: Scarborough Health Network (SHN).
More than just a name change
As we transition to SHN, there will be many exciting changes:
- We will have a new website address – shn.ca
- Our email addresses will change to @shn.ca (i.e. jsmith@shn.ca)
- Our Twitter handle will change to @SHNcares and we’ll be available on Facebook at facebook.com/shncares

So what does a new strategic plan, name and brand mean for our patients and families when they walk through our doors? It means a renewed commitment to provide exceptional quality care, where patients not only feel physically safe, but also emotionally and culturally safe. We will set this new standard with caregivers who love what they do and see providing care not just as their job, but as their privilege. Read more
