Rose Campo cannot say enough about the incredible care her sister Sebastiana Campo received during a recent visit to Scarborough and Rouge Hospital’s (SRH) General site.

For the past three years, Sebastiana Campo has lived at Bendale Acres long-term care home in Scarborough. After falling ill recently, Sebastiana was taken to the Emergency department (ED) at the General site. While being treated for the issue that brought her to the ED, it was discovered that Sebastiana also had a mass on her lung, which led her to be admitted into to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

From the ED through to the ICU, Rose truly appreciated the incredible care provided to her sister from each and every staff member and physician. “Everyone was so supportive,” said Rose.

Rose particularly commends the care her sister received from Dr. Pegah Shahriaree.

“Dr. Shahriaree really made my sister cheer up. She went above and beyond being a doctor; she became more like a friend at the end,” Rose explained.

Although Sebastiana is still recuperating from the issues with her lungs, Rose is pleased to report that her sister is doing much better and has returned to Bendale Acres.

As well, after witnessing the exceptional care her sister received, Rose admits that SRH will also be her hospital of choice for any acute health care needs.

“I’m so happy we have a good hospital that’s in the same category as the hospitals downtown. I will be passing this information on to all my family members,” Rose said.
