Delay in COVID-19 test results resolved

Scarborough Health Network (SHN) was made aware that COVID-19 test results were not being reported in the E-Health system where patients view their results.

Beginning Friday, December 4th, negative COVID-19 results from SHN’s Assessment Centre at University of Toronto Scarborough Campus were not communicated.

Scarborough Health Network has informed Toronto Public Health of all positive results on a daily basis, and people with positive results have been notified directly by SHN within 48 hours of their test.

As of midnight December 10th, SHN has resolved the issue and all results are now available through the E-Health system.

Test results following visits to the assessment centre at Birchmount hospital have been proceeding as normal. All SHN assessment centres continue to offer testing.

We understand the impact of this situation for individuals and their families, and we sincerely apologize for the stress this has caused to residents awaiting results. We are committed to supporting our community through COVID-19 and we encourage everyone who needs a test to get tested.
