That’s the number of COVID-19 vaccines that SHN and our Scarborough Ontario Health Team partners have administered to people who live and work in our community. And by the time you’re reading this, that number will have gotten even larger.

Our priority is to make sure as many people living and working in Scarborough can get vaccinated as quickly and equitably as possible. And we know there’s no “one-size-fits-all” vaccination clinic model that will work for everyone in our diverse community.

So we innovated. We set up vaccine clinics at community health centres. We held pop-up clinics in hot-spot neighbourhoods in schools and recreation centres and churches and community centres. Our mobile vaccine teams vaccinated high-risk people in their homes, workplaces, faith centres, hospitals, and on their basketball courts. And our large vaccine clinics vaccinated people and families from all over Scarborough.

And we’re not done yet.

If you are already vaccinated – thank you for choosing to protect yourself, your family, and your community. If you have not yet been vaccinated – we’d love to see you very soon.

To everyone who has worked to make these 425,000 vaccine doses possible – from working at a clinic to sharing information, to helping people get to their appointments – THANK YOU. None of this would be possible without your enthusiasm, determination, and drive.
