In early March, Scarborough Health Network (SHN) made the difficult decision to reduce non-essential activities across our hospital network, following the introduction of Directive #2 from the Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health. Throughout this period, all urgent and emergency services have remained open. Recently, the Chief Medical Officer of Health amended Directive #2, allowing SHN and all Ontario hospitals to move forward slowly to resume elective services. Thanks to the commitment to safety across our hospitals and our community, SHN is pleased to announce that we have begun increasing elective hospital activities.

SHN is slowly beginning to offer certain elective procedures and activities that were stopped or restricted. As we proceed, the procedures and activities that we are able to resume will remain limited to ensure the safety of our patients and staff.

As we resume services, we are beginning to contact those who have been waiting and are now being scheduled for their elective procedure. We understand that many of you will be eager to have your procedure. If you are expecting an appointment, please wait to be contacted.  If you have any questions related to your specific procedure or treatment plan, please contact your appropriate physician.

We are committed to updating our community on any changes that take place across our network.
