At Scarborough Health Network, safe and high quality care is embedded into all that we do. Amid the Province’s reopening plans that take effect June 11, 2022, the safety and protection of our patients, visitors, staff, medical staff, and volunteers remains paramount.

We are maintaining masking requirements in our high-risk hospital settings as many of our patients are, or may be, at increased risk of severe outcomes from COVID-19. Universal masking is an effective way for us to ensure a safe environment for our patients and staff, as well as limit the risk of transmission.

Staff, medical staff, patients, volunteers, visitors/essential care partners, students, and contractors/vendors at Scarborough Health Network can still expect to wear a hospital-approved mask when entering any of our buildings. A medical mask will be available to you at the beginning of your visit. Please wear this mask the entire time you are inside the hospital.

SHN will continue to follow the Toronto Region-IPAC recommendations and Toronto Region-Hospital Operational guidance from the COVID-19 Toronto Region-Hospital Operations Table. Maintaining these measures, endorsed by our infection prevention and control experts, will help ensure our hospitals are able to prevent and manage outbreaks of COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses.

Thank you.
