Friday, May 1 is Doctors’ Day, an annual celebration started almost a decade ago by the Ontario Medical Association (OMA). SHN and our Medical Administration Office and the Medical Staff Association are pleased to support this special day, and invite you to join us in recognizing and thanking all of the skilled and compassionate physicians across our health network.
Messages from our CEO and Chief of Staff
Happy Doctors’ Day to our incredible team of SHN physicians, who make a difference in the lives and health of our patients and families every day. We proudly recognize our physicians for their exceptional medical expertise and their dedication to compassionate care.
It is through their collaborative efforts and leadership that we have come so far in our journey as one connected health network. And it is this same shared commitment of our physicians that is enabling SHN to meet the challenge of the current COVID-19 pandemic.
We cannot thank our physicians enough for everything they do to deliver the highest quality, safest care, and truly transform the health experience for our Scarborough community.
” Elizabeth Buller, President and CEO
During this unprecedented time, we truly appreciate how our medical staff has come together, as part of our patient care teams, to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Medical Staff have responded in amazing ways every day to our patients’ needs ” springing into action and coming together to provide care to everyone. The support from the Medical Staff for our pandemic planning has been overwhelming and is a true testament to the leadership, courage, and compassion of our doctors.
We want to take this opportunity to thank you for all you do for our patients and families and the Scarborough community at large, not just over the past few months, but throughout the year. Happy Doctors’ Day!
” Dr. Dick Zoutman, Chief of Staff
Shine a Light for All They Do
With this year’s Doctors’ Day falling in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, the OMA are asking Ontarians to “Shine A Light For All They Do’. All you have to do is at 9 p.m. on May 1, turn on the flashlight on your phone, and hold it high through your window, or from your balcony, front porch, or driveway for about five minutes.
This special light-shining moment is a way for all of us to come together, from a distance, and participate in celebrating doctors.
