What is CTO?

CTO is an independent, non-profit organization established with support from the Government of Ontario. Their mandate is to work collaboratively with the clinical trials community, the public, and various partners to attract clinical trial investment to Ontario. A key to accomplishing this is their streamlined ethics review system that decreases the time needed to get trials started by having ethics reviews completed by a single, qualified research ethics board (REB) performing the review for all sites involved in a study.

We provide the necessary support and guidance to ensure smooth study start-up, operations and quality control management, and regulatory compliance, and are happy to assist with the grant submission process. We engage clinical researchers, academic institutions and the community to promote collaboration and reduce barriers to conducting and participating in research.
