Scarborough Health Network (SHN)’s Community Advisory Council (CAC) led an open community forum on March 2, 2020, to discuss SHN’s Mental Health and Addictions programs – a key priority identified by the CAC.

Community members, SHN community partners, SHN staff, and other key stakeholders joined together to learn about accessing mental health and addiction services in Scarborough. Participants heard directly from, and engaged with, community care providers as well as those with lived experience – shaping an inspiring and eye-opening evening.

Following the educational session, participants took part in interactive group discussions focused on better understanding the challenges that exist in accessing mental health and addictions supports and services and brainstorming how best to address these barriers.

We look forward to continue working with our community to improve access to mental health and addictions services. Get more information on SHN’s Mental Health programs.
