Celebrating SHN Excellence

At Scarborough Health Network (SHN), we are proud to celebrate the wealth of talent and expertise that our people bring to the table. Our award-winning team, from emerging talents, to educators, to seasoned professionals, are at the heart of the exceptional quality care that defines SHN.

Dr. Caroline Thompson, interim co-chief for SHN’s emergency departments (ED), was recently honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Toronto Women in Emergency Medicine, a GTA-based academic program funded by the University of Toronto. A staff emergency physician at SHN since 2004, Dr. Thompson is known for her mentorship, helping many colleagues grow into roles in education, training, wellness, and leadership.

At the other end of the spectrum, SHN celebrated 11 Family Medicine Residency Program graduates this summer, a momentous milestone marking the beginning of an exciting and fulfilling career. Several SHN preceptors and residents were recognized with excellence awards for their contributions to medicine and teaching across various categories.

This week, we will be releasing SHN’s Annual Report 2023-2024. This snapshot of our achievements is curated to illustrate the power of our people, partnerships, government, community, and donors coming together to advance world-class healthcare in Scarborough. Watch your inbox for a special Annual Report e-blast, featuring even more of our corporate and individual awards.

Sincerely,

David Graham
