Department of Anesthesiology

Dr. Mario Kovacevic completed his Residency in Anesthesiology at the University of British Columbia and earned his Doctor of Medicine from McMaster University. He also holds graduate and undergraduate degrees in engineering from the University of Toronto.
His clinical interests include perioperative medicine, pediatric anesthesia, and chronic pain management. Dr. Kovacevic has contributed to numerous research and quality improvement initiatives and has received several awards recognizing his excellence in anesthesiology, innovation, and compassionate care.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Kovacevic is actively involved in medical education and digital health innovation, having co-founded platforms such as AnesthesiaConsiderations.com and SPHPOM.com.
Department of Diagnostic Imaging
Dr. Sundeep Toor is an accomplished radiologist with extensive experience in general and interventional radiology, including CT, MRI, ultrasound, and nuclear medicine. He completed his fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at the University of Toronto and his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the University of Ottawa. He holds a Doctor of Medicine and a Master of Science from the University of Toronto.
Prior to joining SHN, Dr. Toor worked at Oak Valley Health where he established and led the Interventional Radiology program and served as Clinic Lead.

Beyond clinical excellence, Dr. Toor has a strong track record in leadership, research, and education, with numerous publications and presentations in leading medical forums. His commitment to innovation and patient care will be a tremendous asset to our organization.
Department of Medicine

Dr. Stefan Jevtic completed his Adult Hematology subspecialty training at the University of Toronto, following completion of his
Internal Medicine residency at McMaster University. He earned his Doctor of Medicine from McMaster and holds an Honours Bachelor of Science with High Distinction from the University of Toronto.
Dr. Jevtic has a strong clinical interest in both malignant and benign hematology, thrombosis, and immune-mediated hematologic conditions. He has contributed extensively to COVID-19-related research and coagulopathy, with numerous peer-reviewed publications in Blood Advances, CMAJ, and Frontiers in Immunology, among others.
He has been the recipient of several prestigious awards including the Canadian Hematology Society Education Grant and the American College of Physicians Ontario Abstract Award. Dr. Jevtic is also passionate about medical education and mentorship, contributing to podcasts, clinical skills teaching, and national medical platforms such as The Intern at Work.
Dr. Kathleen Xu completed training in Palliative Medicine at the University of British Columbia following her training in Family Medicine at the University of Toronto. She has prior experience serving as a hospice physician in BC.
Her academic contributions include multiple peer-reviewed publications, and she holds a MSc in Neuroscience from McGill University. Dr. Xu is passionate about improving palliative medicine education across the healthcare spectrum, and she feels privileged to provide meaning-centred care to the Scarborough community.
