We are thrilled to introduce SHN and SHN Foundation’s joint Annual Report 2023-2024. This snapshot of our achievements is curated to illustrate the power of our people, partnerships, community, and donors coming together to advance world-class healthcare in Scarborough.
This report highlights the momentum we are experiencing as we embark on a new chapter with the launch of SHN’s Strategic Plan 2024-2029. We are building upon our role in delivering exceptional quality care and providing a more integrated healthcare system for Scarborough. This means going beyond our walls, adapting research and education efforts to meet the health needs of our diverse community, and working with health system partners to provide seamless and coordinated care. For our patients and their families, this means quicker access to care, right here in Scarborough.
Some of the achievements featured in the report include: the introduction of robotic knee surgeries with our Orthopaedic Centre of Excellence, the expansion of education at SHN to train the next generation of healthcare professionals, and the success of new services such as the Weston Patient Navigation program, the Slaight Dialectical Behaviour Therapy program, and our dedicated Urgent Care Centre.
Alongside our Strategic Plan 2024-2029, SHN and SHN Foundation are working closely together to Build It Forward through a multi-year redevelopment strategy that includes ambitious capital expansion and renewal projects. This year’s annual report also highlights the impact of donor generosity, which is enabling SHN to invest in state-of-the-art medical equipment, cutting-edge technology, and innovative new spaces dedicated to the health of patients and their families. Through the Love, Scarborough campaign, SHN Foundation has reached $167 million in pledges towards their $200-million fundraising goal.
