Dr. Alexandra Bottas

Alexandra Bottas, MD, FRCPC, is an adult psychiatrist with an interest in individualizing psychiatric care with a holistic biopsychosocial approach to psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment in inpatient, emergency department, and outpatient hospital settings. Dr. Bottas earned her medical degree at the University of Alberta, and completed a Psychiatry Residency and Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Toronto. Dr. Bottas has been board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada. She has practiced psychiatry for nearly 20 years in a wide array of clinical settings including the following: specialized schizophrenia inpatient units, concurrent disorders/addictions, acute inpatient psychiatry, emergency psychiatry, specialized mood disorders clinics, specialized anxiety disorders clinics, adolescent outpatient clinics, general adult outpatient clinics, consultation liaison psychiatry, and forensic psychiatry medium secure settings. Her clinical interests include:

In addition, Dr. Bottas has published manuscripts in high-impact scientific journals and has been an invited speaker for local and inter/national sponsors and organizations. She has been a co-investigator for clinical trials of investigational pharmacotherapies, an invited peer reviewer for top-tier scientific journals and research institutes, and has co-founded and served on a research ethics board.
