Update on SHN’s COVID-19 Therapeutics Clinic
Over the last two years, it has been our privilege at Scarborough Health Network (SHN) to provide assessment and care to high-risk patients who have been diagnosed with COVID-19. One of these services has been our COVID-19 Therapeutics Clinic, where we have offered outpatient treatment with the antiviral medication remdesivir.
As health systems continue to move forward from the pandemic, the Ministry of Health has put forth new direction on access to remdesivir. This medication will now primarily be administered through Home and Community Care Support Services (HCCSS) locations – for outpatients in the community.
Following this direction, SHN’s COVID-19 Therapeutics Clinic will be winding down, and the last day of operation for will be June 16.
Eligible, high-risk patients from the community may access remdesivir treatment as follows:
|Toronto HCCSS||University Health Network and Women’s College Hospital have partnered to support those living in the City of Toronto (M postal codes)||If the patient is not eligible for Paxlovid, complete the Remdesivir Referral Form and email to COVIDCare@uhn.ca or fax 416-340-4135|
|Central East HCCSS||Ajax Nursing Clinic||For more information, please call 1-800-263-3877|
While we are ending our COVID-19 Therapeutics Clinic and no longer providing remdesivir to outpatients, SHN continues to be committed to providing exceptional care and services across our health network.
