Update on SHN’s COVID-19 Therapeutics Clinic

Over the last two years, it has been our privilege at Scarborough Health Network (SHN) to provide assessment and care to high-risk patients who have been diagnosed with COVID-19. One of these services has been our COVID-19 Therapeutics Clinic, where we have offered outpatient treatment with the antiviral medication remdesivir.

As health systems continue to move forward from the pandemic, the Ministry of Health has put forth new direction on access to remdesivir. This medication will now primarily be administered through Home and Community Care Support Services (HCCSS) locations – for outpatients in the community.

Following this direction, SHN’s COVID-19 Therapeutics Clinic will be winding down, and the last day of operation for will be June 16.

Eligible, high-risk patients from the community may access remdesivir treatment as follows:
