At Scarborough Health Network (SHN), we value the important role that families and visitors play in supporting patients. We are also committed to the safety of patients, families, and our health care teams.

With the continued spread of COVID-19, there is now a need to be the most vigilant in high-risk and vulnerable settings and locations, such as hospitals.

That is why, effective March 20, our visitor policy has changed.

For everyone’s protection no visitors will be allowed except for the following:

pregnant woman with partner or support person
WOMEN IN LABOUR
+1 Partner/Support Personchild with parent or support person
PAEDIATRIC/NICU PATIENTS
+1 Parent/Support PersonNo visitors under the age of 16 are permitted at this time. Exceptions will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

All visitors will be actively screened prior to entrance.

We understand this change is difficult, and we appreciate how hard it can be to not see your loved ones. As always, our health care team will be there for patients ” to smile, to talk, to listen, to care. SHN will also work with patients and families to encourage and support alternative forms of communication and interaction during this time, including virtual and telephone visits.

For questions regarding the new visitor policy, please contact the unit directly.

You can contact Patient Relations at each of our hospitals for questions or concerns relating to our new Visitor Policy:
