SHN’s Surgery Program has launched EnRoute to the OR: Peri-Operative Education Program, aimed at providing Operating Room (OR) certification to RN candidates in a compressed timeframe. The 10-week program will include theory, lab work, surgical program observation and a five-week OR clinical placement — enabling learning and career growth through education, training and valuable hands-on experience,
EnRoute to OR provides RN candidates a chance to receive:
- An in-house AORN Peri-Operative Certificate,
- Financial support in tuition costs, and staff participating in the program will be compensated hourly
- A permanent position in the OR for successful candidates.
The Surgery program is also looking for a CPL to take on a new EnRoute to OR instructor role. This one-year position will be part of the professional practice team, and will work closely with the Surgery leadership and clinical teams to coordinate and deliver education — including developing program plans, training, mentoring and participating in recruitment activities.
