Scarborough Health Network (SHN) is hosting its second Sickle Cell Disease Town Hall, an event aimed at co-designing high-quality, culturally safe care with our community. For 20 years, SHN has supported patients with Sickle Cell Disease (SCD) and their families, and our goal is to further develop a seamless transition of care as paediatric patients grow into adults.

When: February 22, 1 – 3 p.m.
Where: Centenary Hospital (2867 Ellesmere Rd), Dr. Bruce Johnston Conference Room, 3rd Floor

Register for this event to attend a meaningful discussion with SHN and community leaders. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions, share feedback, and learn more about how we can better support those living with SCD.

A community member speaking at SHN’s first SCD Town Hall, 2023

This town hall is for patients with SCD, family members, and all community members who wish to engage in discussions around enhancing care at SHN, particularly as they transition out of the realm of Kids Care.

We invite feedback from anyone who has engaged with healthcare systems and understands the unique challenges of receiving culturally competent, accessible care for SCD.

Whether you’re directly impacted or just passionate about improving care at SHN, join us in shaping a more inclusive and effective healthcare experience.

At this event you will hear how the input received at our first SCD town hall was used to make tangible improvements for our patients living with SCD. We look forward to working together to further enhance and refine the care experience for those affected by Sickle Cell Disease.
