This week, we celebrate National Volunteer Week 2025 and its theme, “Volunteers Make Waves.” This theme underscores the power, impact, and importance of individual and collective volunteer efforts across the country. Just like a wave, volunteering is about building movements and creating positive change.
Across our network, over 1,000 volunteers are integral to SHN’s operations and embody the spirit of our mission, vision, and values, providing assistance, uplifting spirits, and supporting fundraising initiatives, making a significant impact on the patient experience.
On behalf of all our staff, professional staff, learners, and the entire SHN community, thank you for your contributions and extraordinary efforts.
“Thank you for your dedication and service to our community. Your work directly improves patient care at SHN and helps ensure people get the exceptional care they need. We appreciate the impact you make every day.”
– David Graham, President and CEO

– Dr. Elaine Yeung, Chief of Staff and Chief Medical Information Officer
“Your compassion and kindness are a constant source of strength and are always appreciated. They continue to make a world of difference, creating ripples of positive change that touch the lives of our patients and inspire us all to improve the quality of care we provide. Like waves in the ocean, your presence reminds us of the power of community and the impact of collective effort.”
-Michele James, Executive Vice President, Patient Care Services, Community Partnerships and Health System Integration
