It is with great respect that Scarborough Health Network (SHN) announces the upcoming retirement of Michele James, Executive Vice President of Patient Care Services, Community Partnerships, and Health System Integration, effective December 5, 2025.
After almost 18 years as a vital member of SHN’s executive team and over 37 years of dedicated leadership in health care, Michele is concluding a remarkable career marked by transformational leadership and profound community impact. Under her leadership, SHN launched the “Where the world comes to work” recruitment program, earning major recognitions including GTA Top Employer and Canada’s Most Admired Corporate Culture Award.

Through contributions like these and many others, Michele has been a driving force behind SHN’s growth, innovation, and strong community partnerships. Her visionary leadership has shaped the culture of SHN and its legacy organizations by fostering inclusivity, advancing patient- and family-centred care, and strengthening collaboration across Scarborough’s health system.
