February is Heart Month, and Scarborough and Rouge Hospital’s (SRH) regional cardiac care program is inviting community members to come have a “heart to heart” about their cardiovascular health.
The regional program will be hosting its annual Heart to Heart Community Talks in February for residents to come learn about improving their heart health and achieving a better quality lifestyle.

Preference will be given to those who, in addition to having board directorship attributes, have knowledge/or experience in the areas of Information Technology, Large Scale Infrastructure Development, Risk Management, Education/Research, Legal/Regulatory and Government Relations.

Scarborough and Rouge Hospital’s (SRH) Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Dr. Dick Zoutman has been appointed as the hospital’s inaugural Chief of Staff. Dr. Zoutman will be assuming the position effective April 23, 2018.

Flu cases are on the rise as the season peaks in Canada and Scarborough and Rouge Hospital (SRH) is managing higher patient volumes in all three of its Emergency Departments (ED). It is important for those experiencing milder flu symptoms to know that there are other places within the community that can provide care.

While most people were counting down the last weeks of 2017 towards the New Year, new mom Libin Wei and proud dad Yuefei Yang have been counting down towards the birth of their daughter.
And little Karlie Yang definitely gave her parents a very special way to ring in the New Year, arriving at 12:58 a.m.
SRH will open new beds this week ahead of the 2017-18 flu season. The beds will increase the hospital’s ability to care for patients throughout the season.
Eighteen beds will open today, twelve beds at the hospital’s General site and six at its Birchmount site.
