FITT Clinic

First Intervention Treatment Team

General Information

General Information

The First Intervention Treatment Team (FITT) is an early psychosis intervention program for youth living in Scarborough.

Program goals include:

  • Reducing the duration of untreated psychosis
  • Minimizing the disruption in the lives of adolescents and young adults so that they can reintegrate and maintain school, work and other roles.
  • Minimize the societal impact of psychosis and reducing disruption in the lives of families

Our team includes psychiatrists, social workers, a child and youth counsellor, registered nurse (RN) and an occupational therapist.

Clients who meet the criteria for early psychosis intervention (EPI), will be able to receive services for up to three years.

Clients who participate in the EPI program are often able to reintegrate back to work and school as well as maintain their social relationships. Families are given support and information so they can help their loved one.
